Cinematography Evaluation-Casino Royale

Cinematography Evaluation:
Using only visual evidence in the provided sequence respond to the following:
What types of shots are used to convey the intended message in this scene?
Long shots are mostly used in this scene to show the audience what kind of environment the character is in and what he is doing. Close up and extreme close up are also used when they are having conversation showing the characters’ emotions and how their emotions change, as well as the scene that the men are having a fight.

How has framing been used to show or hide information to the audience; refer to specific elements and information.
Framing has been used to create an illusion to the audience that actors are punching or shooting when they are actually not.
Describe how camera position has been used effectively? List some specific shots
This scene has been filmed mostly at a low angle in order to show the characters emotions. The scene when they are having a fight and punching each other, the camera position of filming that scene makes it look like they are actually punching.

What type of camera movement takes place and how does it enhance or detract from the shot?
When the two men are fighting and they fall on the ground, the camera follows them, in which it moves from an extreme close up filming their heads to a long shot filming from a high position to a low position showing how they fall, so it makes the shot more realistic.

Does the cinematographer make specific use of underexposure or overexposure to convey a message?
Yes,the cinematographer made the film back and white to convey messages. The office where James Bond is talking with another man is so dark that makes people feel they are not doing something good and it makes it feels more scary and dangerous.
